Prafull Ranjan
I work as a software engineer at SkillNet Solutions, Inc., where I've spent about eight
years doing backend development and application support for retail clients. Mostly Java,
Spring, Oracle, and a lot of production debugging.
On the side, I build simple websites for small businesses and schools, and write about
things I learn through my blog PrafullTalks. Nothing fancy — just
trying to keep learning and be useful.

A bit about me
I've been working at SkillNet Solutions, Inc. for about eight years, mostly on backend systems for retail clients. My day-to-day involves Java, Spring, Oracle databases, and a fair amount of application support — looking at logs, figuring out production issues, and keeping things running.
I do backend development and application support — writing Java/Spring code, working with SQL and Oracle, and handling L1/L2/L3 production support when things go wrong. It's mostly practical, hands-on work rather than anything cutting-edge.
Recently I picked up Oracle SOA Suite for a data migration project — it was new to me and a good learning experience. Outside of client work, I try to keep learning by building small projects and writing about what I learn.

I write articles on PrafullTalks every Monday — mostly about technology, software engineering, and things I find useful or interesting.
It started as an experiment with automated publishing, but now I write and post manually each week. It helps me organize what I'm learning and hopefully someone else finds it useful too.

Working on a data migration project using Oracle SOA Suite with embedded Java — extracting client data from legacy source databases and generating structured MNT output files. Built data transformation logic within SOA composites. This was my first time working with Oracle SOA, so it's been a good learning experience.

Working on a project for Estée Lauder Companies. My role has been around transforming legacy data into XML for the Relate system, along with backend development, application support, manual testing, and deployment tasks.

Writing and sharing what I learn — one post every Monday
PrafullTalks is my personal blog hosted on Blogger. I started it as an experiment with automated publishing (using GitHub Actions and APIs), but over time I've moved to writing and posting manually every Monday. I find that writing by hand helps me think more clearly about the topics.
Note: PrafullTalks originally ran on an automated pipeline I built using Claude API, GitHub Actions, and Blogger API with OAuth 2.0. It was a good learning project — I got hands-on with API integration, CI/CD workflows, and OAuth token management. Now I write and publish manually each week, which gives me more control over quality and topics.
